Isaiah wrote an “oracle” about what was to happen to “Damascus” as the end of this age approached. He wrote, “An Oracle concerning Damascus. The ancient city of Damascus and the cities that were created around this city are now in ruins due to the war that has gone on in Syria for nearly 12 years! The presidential palaces and buildings in Damascus, relatively untouched up until recently, have been taken over. The president of Syria in Damascus, Basha al-Assad, is no longer in power and likely no longer alive as it is being reported a plane carrying him and others was shot down near Homs last night. All the cities of Syria with few exceptions have been extensively damaged or destroyed due to the 12 year war! Many were killed and millions moved out of these areas because of this war! Only a remnant will remain in the land called Syria after this, all just as Isaiah’s oracle stated!

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that President Assad decided to step down after negotiations with “a number of participants in the armed conflict on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic.”
Assad, Russia said, gave “instructions for a peaceful transfer of power.”
Obviously his toppling comes out of “negotiations” (betrayal) and from possible internal conspiracies to depose him.
