Welcome to The Daily Wrap Up, a concise show dedicated to bringing you the most relevant independent news, as we see it, from the last 24 hours (5/13/18).

A point not often discussed, is that the US actively employees for-profit hires — otherwise known as contract killers or mercenaries — to bypass standard military norms and international law. This way they can have troops on the ground, yet not technically have US troops on the ground. Or even the point of simply using proxies armies instead of US troops, which is the predominate means of waging war used by the US today; as seen in Syria and its arming and funding of extremists groups that are indistinguishable from the boogeyman threat they sell to the American people as “the enemy,” only they are given the arbitrary title of “moderate rebels.”

Another way the US government and its agencies sidestep their own laws, is by using black sites. By not being acknowledged by the US or having these sites on US soil, they completely bypass US law. Meaning that someone like Gina Haspel, who has a verifiable history of morally reprehensible tactics, can carry out all manner of horrendous acts, yet not be said to have lied during her confirmation hearing wherein she stated emphatically that she would not violate “US law.”

Last year, reports emerged that the US in Yemen helped the United Arab Emirates establish a series of black-site detention centers throughout the territory under their control. As discussed by Mint Press News:

Inmates at these 18 detention centers cited unspeakable torture. One device, known as “the grill,” roasted victims for interrogation. Guards smeared detainees with feces and crammed them into what looks like shipping containers in Yemen’s intense heat for indefinite amounts of time. Beatings and electrocutions are commonplace.

Saudi Arabia and the US in Yemen have used the war as a testing grounds for military action and weapons. Despite the United States condemning Syria for suspected chemical weapons, the US has no problem selling chemical weapons like white phosphorous to the Saudi coalition to use in Yemen.

The United States also sold cluster munitions to the Saudi coalition and cluster bombs that are internationally banned, and no one levied sanctions on either of them, and when these bombs were used on civilians no one cried foul or called for the US or Saudi governments to be held accountable for their crimes against humanity. The audacity of these leaders, the brazen hypocrisy to call out whomever they want, whenever they want, wherever they want, in order to achieve a geopolitical goal (and other much more sinister ambitions) even while the accusations are commonly shown to be baseless and untrue, all while carrying out the very crimes of which they are accusing others, simply cannot be overstated.

We must begin to see that things are very rarely as they seem, or as they are presented to us, especially in regard to foreign policy, we must keep this in mind as things progress overseas, but also as this police state intensifies at home. We can not allow our hope for change, or our hope that an individual is who we want them to be, to allow us to ignore the obvious truth. We must recognize how often the American people have been misled in the past, and even how often we have been lied to since 2016, and take that knowledge, that skepticism and critical thinking into every single discussion, every video and article, without exception, lest we fall victim to the same lies, the same tired deceptions, yet again. Unless we are able to begin truly questioning the actions of even those we think we trust, of those we believe in, until we begin seeing just how casually our politicians will lead us astray, we are quite literally doomed to repeat the worst of our history.

Please take the information discussed in the video below and research for yourself, and come to your own conclusions. As anyone telling you what the truth is, or claiming they have the answer, is likely leading you astray, for one reason or another. Stay Vigilant.
