  1. I went to the zoo this weekend and was not able to buy tickets in person. Tickets had to be purchased online 🙁 And, they wouldn’t take cash anywhere in the park.

  2. We had a similar experience, we have for years sent and received various items including food to family in DK from the UK.
To continue doing so we have now have to fill out full customs declarations, including all the breakdowns on every item as in fat, protein and carbs in any food. The costs have sky rocketed, the time to deliver has gone from days to many weeks, additionally it’s utterly unreliable, it’s more likely that it will be returned ‘un-deliverable’, unspecified reason’s and ofc with no refund.
They are doing everything they can to shutdown any individual from staying in contact across different countries it seems.

  3. Canada Post no longer accepts cash. You must use debit or credit card to mail a parcel. This amounts to even more invasive and repressive than the Japanese policy you encountered.

  4. I believe that this system of requiring an electronic footprint to mail packages is now required in the USA and in Canada.

  5. This past January, I went into a large chain restaurant that was recently “allowed” to reopen. We walked into the restaurant, and we were greeted by three masked employees. A large sign stated that we needed to give our first and last names along with a phone number so that we could be tracked in the event that someone tested positive for COVID. I was sick to my stomach and promptly left with my children in tow. I also refuse to use a QR code to view a menu. Dining out where I live is a miserable experience.

  6. It’d be fun to maybe set up some sort of a e-campaign to somehow crowdsoarce some kind of a onetime crypto-payment for people to agree to boycott patreon et al. By, maybe not just disconnecting from, ( in case it is not necessarily fesable to their livelyhood) but even some sort of incentive to forward on the campaign to disconnect from said vomitory-fecalfetus-eating digital multideathcorperations.. Meh?

  7. Ryan Cristian,
BE AWARE… that “support funds” have been placed on the line of “TRACE A BILITY”!
Yeap; now… when fun d s are elect…ly-sent, the question that MUST be answered is who is this and/or how are you related or know this individual. If refuse to disclose it… the trans action is automatically cancelled.
Reason given me? you guest it! dome stick TERR..!
In my opinion? Every effort is being made to stop THE SUPPORT GIVEN TO “THE INDEPEN DENT ONES” who keep the rest informed and breakdown what cannot be understood… and of course… a “punch” may be then be delivered to those who provide fun ds.
The above perhaps needs to be seriously looked into as is to plan for it; also needs to be shared!
…this comment can be red and delete.

  8. We need a transparent bitcoin transfer system for you guys and everyone else, so funds received to a bitcoin address triggers a transfer through an exchange/trader to purchase USD/gold immediately pre-authorized (or easy authorization) from the btc wallet, I’m not sure who has that set up. Then same on the client side you’d pay $ to a service and it sends it to you guys by bitcoin without them having to touch bitcoin. In other words you could theoretically use bitcoin to transfer funds but not store anything in bitcoin so there’s no volatility or user pain. We might need to develop an app. In theory anyone can sell their bitcoins and become an exchange. In some countries they’d panic and make it illegal but it’s something you can do with agorism and it’s our fundamental liberty, they won’t stop us forever.

  9. About RSS: tell James to put mini-tutorials on his site for how to setup up RSS on PCs and mobiles, ideally right there where the button is. Literally every website that supports RSS must have this. It has to be made so trivial for people that you can summarize it in 3 steps. That’s why people don’t use it, it looks too daunting and people’s mind are shut off to learning almost all the time. It has to be made so easy that literally a child can do it. That’s the problem with all the popular software and protocols. People have been so dumbed down but simultaneously they command their phones so they actually believe they’re with the times, they’re way behind.

      1. A really simple solution (people-focused so I give it a coin toss): encourage people to download your videos, even 240p/low as long as you can see the text. James always adds an mp4 download link, but if you encourage people to do this they keep local archives of everything you say. Especially anything that doesn’t have a transcript. Everyone’s trained for clouds.

Part of the problem is the online 24/7 mentality, this makes us more dependent on their connections and infrastructure than if you work assuming outages, so downloads get rid of the buffering complaints while they hammer the alternative providers.

Your site already does this sometimes when I Save Page As your articles it downloads like a 500mb audio file as part of it (not sure intentional but why complain).

My connections are slow so I can’t bother with live streams except audio
