The US and Saudi war machine rang in the Christmas holiday weekend by massacring hundreds of Yemeni men, women, and children while the world watched in silence.
Sana’a
11 people were killed and another four were wounded after four air raids targeted the Egyptian memorial in Yemen’s capital. The victims included a guard and his entire family along with a small child.
Hodeidah
US-backed Saudi airstrikes targeted a number of civilian areas in Hodeidah over the holiday as the aggression coalition prepares to retake territory from Yemen’s resistance.
Eight people died and more were wounded when airstrikes targeted a farm. Victims included women. Additional raids in the same province targeted another farm killing six workers.
More raids strike a bus injuring several other civilians.
Today, the Saudi coalition continued more than 30 airstrikes on various parts of Hodeidah. Martyrs included a family of 14.
Taiz
The coalition has also decreased its inhibitions when striking areas of Taiz as they prepare for a ground offensive.
A devastating massacre took place on the 26th when US-backed airstrikes targeted a market. Hospitals report receiving over 100 either dead or wounded men, women, and children.
It is impossible to verify the exact number and names of victims at this point due to the fact that body parts are scattered 300 meters away from the location of the attack.
Saada
A man, woman, and child were seriously injured but escaped with their lives after an air raid targeted a home in Saada.
Dhamar
On Christmas morning, six raids struck the Yemeni Customs Department in Dhamar province killing four and injuring another 55.
US-backed Saudi War Against Yemen
Ansarullah spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam condemned the attacks stating that they are proof of Riyadh’s military failures on the ground:
“There is a great disregard for the Yemeni blood, and the Saudi regime bought the United Nations positions with money. The Saudi regime will drown in the blood of Yemenis, and targeting markets is unjustified. The cries of the world from a [Yemeni] missile targeting Riyadh reveals the hypocrisy and silence in front of hundreds of arrogant crimes.”
An official at the Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights said that these crimes should be prosecuted before national courts and not to bet on the outside world for help. They went on to say that the United Nations clearly stands with Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the United States.
Over 13,000 have died since Saudi Arabia began their war against Yemen with military support from the United States and key western allies. Countless others have died from the ongoing siege and blockade which restricts food, medical supplies, other goods, flow of movement, and government salaries for teachers, doctors, and nurses.
The siege and blockade are part of Riyadh’s strategy to beat Yemen into submission. The war would not be possible without the US supplying bombs, weapons, and military intelligence to Saudi Arabia and Gulf allies.
