Monsanto has been under serious fire in the last few years as their products as well as their practices are continually revealed as not only harmful to humanity, but knowingly so.
The Last American Vagabond recently reported on the 14 German beers that were found to contain glyphosate, which the World Health Organization recently labeled as a probable carcinogen. The story was not in the toxicity levels found within the beers, (although, in the highest case, the beers were found to have 300 times the legal limit of glyphosate in drinking water in Germany) but rather in the simple fact that a foreign chemical was there in the first place.
At what point did it become acceptable for there to be arbitrary and unnecessary chemicals in our drinking water, even if they are below certain toxicity levels, of which we take their word on; the very same word that was taken by the inhabitants of Flint, Michigan. They chose to trust their public officials and now their children and families have been knowingly poisoned, and not a single person has been charged. The American people are already subjected to fluoride in their drinking water, which the government claims is for health reasons. Now even though these supposed “health reasons” have been disproved on multiple occasions, at least there is a false logic to why fluoride is forced into our drinking water. Glyphosate is being found everywhere, including in our water supply, and it is so common now that there is a legal limit to how much is allowed to be there.
Now stop and think about that for a second.
Why is it okay for this chemical, one we now know is a probable carcinogen and that is being banned all across the globe, to be found in the water that we trust is safe for our families? There is no reasoning behind it, no false narrative being thrown out to convince the public that it’s for their best interests. We are just supposed to accept the fact that this chemical is being so haphazardly and irresponsibly used, that it is now, not only acceptable but inevitable, to find traces of it in the very water we drink and use to water what we once thought was Organic. This would explain what is now being uncovered in Napa Valley.
Mom’s Across America recently took it upon themselves, following the German beer revelation, to test wines in Napa Valley, Sonoma and Mendocino County areas for this daunting chemical. It was unsurprisingly revealed that all three categories that were tested (conventional, or chemically grown, organic and biodynamic wines) tested positive for glyphosate.
“The highest conventional wine test result for glyphosate was 28 times higher than the glyphosate levels found in the organic and biodynamic wines.” Zen Honeycutt, Mom’s Across America
The real bombshell to be taken from this information is that this chemical was once again found, not only in the conventional wines, but in the organically grown grapes themselves. Honeycutt speculates that this cross-contamination was due to the drifting spray of chemicals from neighboring vineyards, and this is a logical and plausible explanation. However, it seems also logical that if the very water being used to hydrate these vineyards already contains some level of this dangerous chemical, then that chemical would most likely find its way into the grapes, and subsequently, the wine produced from those grapes.
Honeycutt goes on to reveal another very important discovery made during this investigation:
“We have recently learned that the detection of glyphosate is an indicator of the presence of many other co-formulants in glyphosate-based herbicides which, combined, are 1000 times more toxic than glyphosate alone. French scientist Gilles-Éric Seralini and his team have also discovered that these co-formulants are also endocrine hormone disruptors, which can lead to breast cancer, miscarriages, birth defects and many other health issues. There should be zero glyphosate and related chemicals in our wine, food or personal products.”
This information only further adds to what many have been saying about glyphosate and round-up for years. This discovery simply intensifies the rational behind why these chemicals are dangerous and should not be allowed near our food and water, or used at all for that matter.
According to the California Department of Health, breast cancer rates in the Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties are 10 to 20 percent higher than the national average. There are currently 700 lawsuits pending against Monsanto for the connection between non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and Roundup. The FDA does not require end product testing or labeling for pesticides, so there is no way for the public to know the type or amount of any pesticides that are present in the wines, which was Mom’s Across America took it upon themselves to have these wines tested.
For most in this country the idea of glyphosate finding its way into every facet of our lives is nothing new, despite the lack of mainstream coverage. Yet not much is being done to stop this chemical’s use or major companies like Monsanto from lobbying to keep it that way; whether that be on the behalf of glyphosate or any of the other dangerous chemicals currently being used in irresponsible ways in this country. Sadly, it’s nothing new for Americans to come to the stark realization that the US governement has shown in its actions that it will choose profit over the people’s well-being at every turn. It is always important to make clear that there are those within the government who are avidly fighting for the rights and well-being of every American, yet it is continually shown, by way of our lacking democratic process, that these few are wildly outnumbered and sorely out-matched.
This country finds itself in a unique and advantageous position. Most in history who have found themselves on the cusp of a rising tyrannical government, have been wholly unaware of the dangers and restriction that await them on the other side. This country has begun its awakening process during the pinnacle of that transformation into what can only be called a rising police state. Many Americans have awakened to this rising state and are simply unsure what to do next. The answer is simple: Speak out, raise awareness, and do all in your power to facilitate the awakening of others to the very real dangers this county faces if we chose apathy over sympathy and compassion. Reach out to those you care about, and open their eyes; and do not let an issue of this magnitude get lost in the barrage of “news” (unless information designed to distract) that is unceasingly pumped into the living rooms of those yet to wake up.

Thanks for the info.
My economic survival at this point requires me to spray this toxin on weeds every week.
Though I have rebelled in various ways–I am punished if I don’t spread this toxin.
However, I long to extricate myself from this noxious cycle of death.
It’s complicated–and simple at the same time.
Well thank you for having the courage to speak out about it. We have written about the many ways Monsanto has brought about the death of the American farmer as we know it. I would love to hear more of your story.. https://www.thelastamericanvagabond.com/health/death-of-the-american-farmer/
