Joining me today is returning guest Jimmy Dore, here to discuss the occupied Palestine and the raging information war that is destroying logic and objectivity in far too many, even those who call themselves “journalists”.

- (51) LastAmericanVagabond on X: “More unverifiable Israeli gov claims & indiscernible images without any context sold as fact. If it happened, whoever is responsible should be held accountable. Its great to hear Jimmy speak, as always. Just some points relating to electricity and water in Gaza. It is my understanding (I stand to be corrected on this ) that fresh water is made available sometimes only every second day to the citizens of Gaza and electricity is made available only for a few hours per day, that was the norm, now Israel gov. have cut off water/elec permanently. What international laws are been breached by these actions? Clearly not against Israel’s Rules Based Order.
Just a few points on the Hamas attacks. Respected, retired, outspoken, US intelligence operatives (bar one) have indicated that there is no evidence of Israel having advance knowledge of the attack, while also indicating that they have been in contact with their former Israel colleagues, their assessment of the root cause been an Israel intelligence failure based on over dependence on A.I for intelligence assessment. Which I believe is a reasonable/logical argument.
But I am just an ordinary Joe and therefore ask the simple questions from an ordinary Joe’s reasoning. Accepting the professionally informed argument of intelligence failure. Not withstanding the alleged fore warning which came from Egypt, because we are not told of the details of said warning, for example was there a definite time/date/type/areas of attack and numbers of attackers to be involved etc. in said warning. Logically one would consider, ok there has been an intelligence failure concerning a planned attack, but what about the basics of contact line security measures?
We are told that due to an ultra conservative member of Israeli parliament decision to live in occupied territories in the West Bank area and because of unrest local to that area, around half a brigade of IDF was relocated from Gaza to said area.
So what of the security along the Gaza strip? Well apparently the fence is so sensitively wired with sensors that if a small animal such as a cat were to make contact with the fence, alarm would be activated giving zoned location of activation, with protocols requiring the immediate investigation, this has been indicated by a retired Israeli intelligence officer.
Said officer also led to believe of the positioning of automated ‘sight and shoot’ tower locations along the fence, together with IDF manned towers and associated mobile patrols. Remember in the past Palestinians even approached said fence they were fired upon, indeed Palestinians have been shot and killed for doing so.
The next logical question an ordinary Joe like me would ask. Have the security services in Israel stopped flying surveillance drones over the Gaza are, if so since when?
So apparently with a security fence loaded with sensors, complete with manned watch towers, together with automated sight and shoot towers, drone surveillance, mobile patrols, said fence was breached at more than one location by several hundred Hamas unimpeded by Israeli security measures. WOW did the Hamas fighters approach the fence under cover of some type of science fiction ‘Invisibility Cloak? Did Hamas just melt through the security fence and reconstitute themselves on the other side?
Not forgetting the low flying, very slow, very noisy para gliders breaching the security contact line as casual as if they were on Sunday family outing.
How about the incursion of Hamas by sea? Gaza has its territorial waters, within these waters there are reportedly natural gas deposits, but more immediately important for Gaza fishermen whose ancestors have fished those waters for thousands of years are the fish stocks. Apparently Gaza fishermen are prohibited from entering their own fishing waters in excess of several hundred metres maybe up to a kilometre, in the event of the fishermen exceeding the area allotted to them by Israel ( yet another breach of international law) they are fired upon by Israeli remote controlled power boats armed with remote controlled machine guns. Presently as result of been prohibited from utilising their waters fully, fishermen are struggling even to feed their families from their small boat fish catches.
Yet with all this Israeli surveillance at sea, we are told Hamas launched an attack from sea? Hhhmmm something smells fishy?
So we have land, sea and airborne attacks breaching Israeli contact line security measures together with the fact it was around five (5) hours before there was an Israeli response. Just to recap were are not talking about INTELLIGENCE, we are talking about security. During which time they were able to capture around 250 hostages and kill many Israeli and even lay siege to a police/military compound.
Where were the rapid response helicopter gun ships, Palestine/Israel is a small area, it would be reasonable to expect that a helicopter gunship/Apache helicopter whose max speed is around 293 Kilometres per hour/182 miles per hour to reach any where along the line of contact within 15 minutes.
Apparently Israeli pilots are flooding social media with claims the were in the air within 5 mins, maybe 5 mins of been notified. This social media narrative has been rubbished by a retired Israeli intelligence office/ professor together with the people on the ground at the receiving end of the attacks, there is always the possibility like 911 where the areal combat interceptors were initially sent flying in the opposite direction of the attack.
Not forgetting the comment of a retired British Ambassador, when speaking about the so called unexpected attack, he spoke quite frankly indicating that it was obvious to him there would be some sort of attack considering the incident by Israeli settlers in the Al-Aqsa mosque some days before hand.
The official Israeli narrative simply does not have any common sense to it, from an ordinary Joe point of view.
