Recently, The Last American Vagabond had the opportunity to sit down with independent musician and activist, Dan LaRosa, a.k.a D-Rev. Discussing a broad variety of topics, from geo-politics and Trump’s swampy state of affairs, to the comparisons between modern science and ancient religions, Rev was also willing to explain parts of his creative process during his album-collaboration with rapper, uMaNg, and Swedish producer, BBZ Darney, entitled Autumn Breathes, which is a concept album inspired by how human emotions tend to drift with the seasons.
D-Rev also mentioned his newest album release, Dirty Capital, with guest appearances from other Vagabond-affiliated rappers such as uMaNg and Halfcut, which was officially released online as of February 9th. Another subtle-theme inspired album, Rev goes into detail about how John Perkins’ research novel Confessions of an Economic Hitman helped inspire the content for Dirty Capital.
As he proved to be a humble intellectual with some of the most innovative lyricism around, the interview with D-Rev was a truly refreshing conversation, and The Last American Vagabond looks forward to the next encounter.
