Veteran Received Life in Prison For Medical Cannabis – Government Absurdly Continues To Claim No Medical Value

This nation’s antiquated drug war has not only proven to do the exact opposite of its feigned intentions, as sales, usage and demand have all increased, but has also shown to be a back door into the ever-growing police state in this country. The public has been outspoken in regards to its desire to end this detrimentally failing war on drugs, yet the establishment simply does not want Americans to see the value of non-pharmaceutical treatments, and continues to disregard the will of the people.

Everyday in this country a person’s life is destroyed by this war, as they are torn from their families and placed in a cage for attempting to heal themselves with a plant. If that sounds ridiculous, that’s because it is. A plant that has killed zero people in the history of mankind, that has been shown by leading scientists to treat, heal and even cure many serious ailments of today, is considered illegal, have you ever considered why?

The government wants every citizen to use products made by their Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 11.25.50 AMcorporations. And these are their corporations, because the vast majority of politicians’ campaigns are funded by these types of special interests. So in other words, they are paid to make sure we use their products, and cannabis is their worst nightmare.

The continuing marijuana uprising that has been taking place in this country is most certainly very frustrating for these corporations, and the politicians taking their money. There is not much to be done when the American people stand as one nation and put the federal government in its place using a form of peaceful revolution, civil disobedience or noncompliance; they can’t realistically arrest all 30 states taking a stand for constitutional rights, unless they want this to turn into something a bit more complex. Yet, what they can do, is use the only method Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 11.26.23 AMthey have left at this point in the fight for marijuana legalization, and that is simple scare tactics. This can be seen with every child ripped from the loving embrace of its family, for the use of a plant that the family’s state says is legal, that the government holds a medical patent for, and that this nation used to fine farmers for not growing.

One such story of applied scare tactics recently took place in Alabama where 76-year-old disabled veteran Lee Carroll Brooker will now live out the remainder of his life in prison for simple possession of cannabis. Brooker was growing cannabis in order to treat his many different chronic conditions that he was no doubt having trouble treating, due to what is now being clearly recognized as a serious problem: veteran’s inadequate VA healthcare. Once government officials realized he was successfully treating himself, they raided the home and seized his plants; throwing him in prison for life, without the possibility of parole.

Brooker, who joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and came under fire in both Lebanon and the Dominican Republic, eventually rose to the rank of sergeant in the 82nd Airborne, where he was decorated for infantry service. This is a man who chose to put his life on the line in order to defend this country, and he is now being repaid for his service with an unnecessary sentence that will allow for him to die a criminal, when in reality, he should be heralded as a hero.

Something is obviously askew when the situation is seen in this light. If one was told they had no other option left, that all they could do was make peace with God and hope for the best, what moral human being could then deny that person any and all avenues left at their disposal, no matter how odd or slim a chance? Now add to the equation that many established doctors have spoken out about this plant’s miracle attributes, how then can a sane person tell another human being that they are sentenced to die because the one treatment that has yet to be tried; the one treatment that will most certainly save them; the one treatment that big pharma will do everything in its power to keep suppressed, is the one treatment that they are not allowed to have. This is basically saying,

“I know you’re about to die, and that you are willing to try anything, especially this plant curing everyone, but that plant is not owned by our bosses so you’re just going to have to die instead, sorry.”

This is laughably absurd, yet it’s what’s happening all across the nation where the federal government is making its presence known; effectively keeping marijuana legalization at this ambiguous quasi-legal standstill, where it’s legal in many states but still technically illegal at the federal level.

(It should be noted that Washington D.C., the hub of their political power, has legalized marijuana, not just medically but recreationally, if that seems a little counterintuitive and hypocritical, that’s because it is.)

This is most certainly by design, whereas the next administration could be more apt to take further bribes contributions in order to cast marijuana back down into the forgotten depths of the Schedule One listing, of which it is close to crawling out of. This standstill could likely be happening in hopes that the American people, being of very short attention spans, have already forgotten about, “that whole marijuana thing, isn’t it legal now anyway?”

Any rational person can see the obvious conflict of interest between the pharmaceutical industry’s connection to this country’s politicians, and the legalities of cannabis. There is no logical reason that this plant should not be used to treat those in need, at the very least, those with no options left. Yet the shocking reality is that the government, while hypocritically claiming that cannabis has no medical value, and locking up veterans who use the plant for that same medical value, prescribes cannabis (video below) to these four patients for…. wait for it…. medicinal use.

While The Last American Vagabond makes every effort to avoid forcing its readers to watch even one second of Fox News, this video reveals the absurd contradiction of cannabis being labeled a Schedule O /ne substance (which first and foremost implies zero medical value), and locking up veterans for trying to fix their wartime related issues that are not being addressed by the VA, all while secretly prescribing the substance to patients for the very same medical value that is being contested as nonexistent. This is the type of blatant political contradiction that has become common place in the United States, only further illustrating the different laws which to apply the ruling élite. They quite literally adhere to a different set of rules.

Lee Carroll Brooker is just one of the many names on a list of millions who are falling victim to this unjust inequality of law; an inequality that has bled over from this century long war on drugs, and has now just simply become a war on freedom, or a war on whatever achieves their corporate sponsors end goal. Call it a war on terror, a war on poverty, a war on drugs or any war that has no foreseeable end, and they will superimpose a specific focus, and make it public enemy number one. Sadly, Brooker was just a casualty of war, something he knows all too much about. His mistake was putting his faith in his government and not realizing that the war had followed him home; not realizing that he had now become the enemy.
