Understanding “Safe Zones” and the Temporary Refugee Ban – TLAV Political Roundtable

Welcome to another episode of TLAV Political Roundtable where we break down the week of American politics, and discuss its implication on American life, and the world. In this episode we dissect the temporary refugee ban, Donald Trump’s purposed “safe zones,” and many other topics. In this week’s Devil’s Advocate segment we discuss Donald Trump and the division of the alternative community during the election. As it is currently the most heatedly debated topic, we will begin with what is deceptively, and incorrectly, being labeled a “Muslim Ban.”

Temporary Refugee Ban

On one side, we should be held responsible for the repercussions of our actions as a nation, and no one is more responsible for the issues in the middle east than the US. To not take in refugees that we created seems incredibly cold and does not align with what we are told are “American values.”

One the other side, with all the factions–both from within and without the US–that are trying to stoke the fires in the middle east for a number of reasons whether or not Trump wishes it so, and those actively working against Trump in every regard, at the detriment of the American people I might add, for Trump to place a 90 day pause on all incoming refuges so as to reassess the situation, just seems logical. And believe it or not, everyone can see that quite clearly.

As we have shown many times on this show, politics in this country have nothing to do with what is best for Americans, it’s about winning, and making the other side look bad in the process. So trump’s opposition is simply capitalizing on a opportunity to make him look bad, and the mindless millions blindly follow. Many of them even know deep down that this is not as bad or unprecedented as they are attempting to make it seem, but they justify that lie with the same “greater good” logic and the purely emotional “Trump Must Go” childish fervor that guides this ill-considered endeavor.

However, as previously stated, this ban does not seem to represent what we always tell ourselves are American values. Yet, neither does dropping 72 bombs a day on Muslim countries for 8 years straight, or arming funding and aiding the very terrorist organizations we claim to be fighting. Where was this outrage then? The point being: there is a vast difference between what the public feels are American values, and what the ruling elite feel are American values.

So when the entirety of the media incites open rebellion against Donald Trump for actions that are shockingly benign when compared to the many horrendous choices of just the last four presidents alone, during which the media sat quietly dissecting the last pop culture “news” distraction instead of showing even a fraction of the outrage it’s currently showing trump, that should tell us all something. Yet, today it’s something we are all beginning to see on our own: that this is all game, a show, a mirage designed to make us look here, while they create reality over there. Few have yet to recognize the modern US ability to effectively, and quite literally, create and control reality. That recognition grew predominately on the heels of the botched effort that was supposed to be the 2016 selection.

Devil’s Advocate

Challenge Your Beliefs

At the beginning of the election, it was clear to many that their was a false majority being projected by corporate media. The idea was to cast anyone outside-the-box as a “conspiracy theorist” and make them think they were part of the minority, and at one point that would have been true. Yet as more began to awaken, that majority shifted, yet the media pushed its false majority with a terrified fervor, so as to maintain the established order of manipulation and control. With this growth in critical thinking and independent thought, the establishment had to act. Enter Donald Trump.

With his overt stance on many topics deemed “conspiracy,” during the election he was squarely placed in that box. Then the division began. Race, sex, and religion was used to sharply divide those within, what was at that moment, a booming “Conspiracy theory” majority, or alternative community, in part due to Trump bringing into light the many topics that had never been endorsed by anyone of that standing.

Now, what we see is a nation more divided than ever, all hinging on Donald Trump, and within that overarching topic, a number of heated issues. All of this was designed to divide what was becoming the fastest growing dissent from the established order(established falsities) and the largest threat to its global ambitions. Americans were beginning to see the truth within all the centuries of lies at an alarming rate, yet now, all we can see it hate. Many will say that is because of Trump. And in some regard they might be right; but the true source of this hate and division stems from US foreign policy; those intentionally stoking the fires, and hindering this nation from surpassing this time of upheaval.

So the question to ask yourself:

Is Donald Trump a willing participant in this possible plan of division?
Is Donald Trump an unwitting pawn in this possible plan of division?
Or is this entire line of thought completely off base?

None of these are wrong, this is simply meant to be an exercise to ensure that we do not let ourselves fall too deeply into one line of thought, which has a funny way of making a person see only their preexisting idea when looking at new information, as well as miss new information that does not align with one’s previous beliefs. This is called confirmation bias. So re-read the previous proposed idea, and truly consider it, regardless of what you think you know. As today, “facts” and what we think we know, has a funny way of changing beneath our feet.

“Safe Zones”

Tucked away within the Executive Order regarding Donald Trump’s temporary suspension of the US refugee program, was the provision to create “safe zones” in Syria. Interestingly enough, Hillary Clinton first proposed this idea of “safe zones” during the final debate of the 2016 election. It should also be noted that the order is not an order to produce a “safe zone” but an order to produce a plan to create one. A fine line but a line nonetheless.

So the question is: Will more US presence in Syria be a bad thing, or is this Trump stepping up and biting the bullet to actually solve this problem?

This will all depend on the extent to which US forces will be needed to keep these zones safe. If this is indeed just a no-fly-zone by another name, which many have said would be tantamount to declaring war, then clearly this is not what the American people need, and certainly not what they expect of Trump, following his campaign of noninterventionism. Yet, if this is simply a means to an end of eventually pulling out of the area following a de-escalation, and the areas are made safe for actual life to resume, then that would clearly be a good thing; a good thing that will almost certainly be framed as “Trump’s invasion of Syria” by all the democrats currently foaming at the mouth to bring down Trump at any cost.

One might think that these zealotous political hopefuls would recognize that bringing down the whole of American culture to remove Trump will leave them with nothing to “take back,” assuming they are the unlucky ones there to take what’s left. Yet, it is not success that seems to be the end-goal of those so intent on bringing about the end of a Donald Trump Presidency, but simply the failure of Trump and all he represents. So in case you missed that point, this RESIST TRUMP effort is happily willing to destroy this nation’s way of life, out of spite, under the guise of righteous indignation.
