Those who don’t support the trans movement are often accused of lacking empathy or not putting themselves in the others’ shoes. But here is a simple thought experiment that anyone can do: Imagine magic was real and you were suddenly transferred into another body of the opposite sex by some irreversible spell.
Firstly, do you you suddenly want to not exist because being the opposite sex is so unbearable? Really?
Ok, you might be really unhappy you lost your old body and even be obsessed with wanting it back.
But would you really then go to these doctors for their treatments? Literally spend months and years of your life being modified with expensive and painful procedures, cutting out functional, feeling parts of your new body, rendering it infertile, sewing on fake parts and taking drugs and treatment for the rest of your life?
Would that really get you what wanted?
What kind of person would encourage or support anybody they cared about going down such a path? And what kind of people would sell this as a service and tell themselves they are ‘saving lives’ by doing this?
