Ex-USA Gymnastics Doctor Larry Nassar Sentenced To 175 years In Prison On Sex Assault Charges

Larry Nassar, 54, the former Team USA gymnastics doctor, was previously sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty in July for three counts of child pornography charges, where in approximately 37,000 graphic images and videos of child pornography were found on his computer and hard drive.

According to Reuters from November 29th:

“Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics team doctor, pleaded guilty in a Michigan court on Wednesday to additional counts of criminal sexual conduct for assaulting girls under the guise of medical treatment.”

Nassar told the court that he was ashamed, telling the judge, “I’m going to take every day of your sentence to try to better myself.” yet with such a sentence, the doctor could theoretically find his way back into the world in less time than many realize.

The doctor was also accused of sexually assaulting women, including underage girls from the gymnastics team. Aly Raisman, an Olympic gold medalist, said that Nassar began abusing her when she was 13. McKayla Maroney, another Olympic gold medalist, referred to Nassar as a “monster,” and accused him of molesting her at age 13.

And now, thankfully, this “monster” will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Michigan Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina just sentenced former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar to 175 years in prison for molesting female gymnasts after a week of emotional testimony. He is also scheduled to be sentenced next week on more assault convictions in Eaton County, Michigan.

I just signed your death warrant,” Aquilina said, after saying earlier that Nassar will “be in darkness the rest of his life.”

I find that you don’t get it — that you’re a danger. You remain a danger.

Aquilina said it was her “honor and privilege” to sentence Nassar.

We should hope that such a sentence is meant to be carried out in full, in which he can recount the pain he caused these children, during which he will likely endure similar pains himself.

  1. Now that the abuser has been proven guilty the question is what happens to the folks that covered this abuse up ? How do we stop this cultural delusion that convinces people to look the other way despite knowing major criminal activity is ongoing ? We have a very self destructive view as a culture surrounding institutions and our roles as individuals within them. Why is honesty and integrity so easily disregarded by people inside organizations like this ?

  2. Simple, dear Watson: Because these selfsame organizations are ruled by people whose principles are as far from morals as can be. That´s why they organize! And the organizations never ever take moral responsibility. Their structure ensures that they cannot ever be blamed collectively. For that they rely on individuals. This one pervert swears he´ll better his ways while in prison..yes, for he was most probably told to say so. His organization stands behind him as long as he does what it wants. And in his position he cannot afford not to do so. So he plays the part of the redemption seeker. The guy is a patsy, another example of how organizations feed on single members to stay clean in the view of the public. He can of course provide names but in doing so he seals his own destiny. He can of course hang himself in his cell but in doing so he proves his guilt. He is a louse between two nails. And no mercy.
He is in for hell behind bars. Till the day he dies.

  3. You’re assuming everyone that knew about this abuse are pedophiles and that all pedophiles belong to the same club. Those are assumptions that cannot be supported in fact or by evidence. Using fallacy to explain human behavior does not help us to understand human behavior or societal perversions like pedophilia. It also helps destroy critical thinking within the public vernacular which is badly needed at this point in history. The fact this man is a pedophile and the fact there are plenty more who haven’t been brought to justice does not mean they all meet on Thursday nights and decide how to cover up the crimes of every individual pedophile everywhere. I understand the anger you feel but simple logic destroys the whole idea that all pedophiles carry a card and pay dues to a world wide baby raping club.

    1. Are you sure you are commenting on the right article? Because this is a simple report of what happened, with a little commentary. No where in the article does it make any of those assumptions. That is not even to say that I don’t think that, because I do in fact feel that there is more behind this story, but this article comes no where near what you are alluding to. How exactly am I assuming that everyone knew by reporting that he was charged? I think you’re reaching here, and my question would be why? Oh and I’ll just leave this here: https://www.thelastamericanvagabond.com/top-news/two-dozen-teen-gymnasts-molested-larry-nassar-fbi-sat-case/

  4. I am not personally of the opinion that all pedos belong to the same organization. I am of the opinion many of them are part of organizations that cover up their crimes. There certainly is proof this is so, one only has to look at socalled political organizations where this sort of behavioor thrives. I am not a believer in any organized group mentality myself whatsoever and yes I do get very suspicious when reading about them or when I run into some myself. These organizations more often than not has a very typical structure: A pyramid. It is a power structure where power basically falls apart if the structure does which of course is the reason for the structure in the first place. These organizations are never transparent to others than the few at the top. Thus I for one carry the greatest mistrust towards them. You may ask yourselves how on Earth this was not discovered earlier? The guy was not alone. His actions must have been documented and there is no excuse in my world for taking adolescents aside and “examining” them for “medical reasons” when there are no such. Where are his friends now? Who paid for whose show here? Why not examine what actually lies behind all these years of silence? This guy has already admitted his guilt. But who helped him cover up all this time? Is he a mad loner? In my opinion absolutely not.

  5. Alma Raven : Well that’s a much more thought out perspective than was represented in your first post. This problem lies in group behavior, the exploitation of the legal system due to a lack of morals, and of course the good ol’ “for profit” dilemma. Why would people not say anything you ask ? Most folks who aren’t pedophiles or perverts are terrified of losing their jobs or status. You have to prove intent in this particular case which is why they really couldn’t do much until the child porn was discovered.

The fact is that even if a lawyer knew or was pretty sure their client was guilty they wouldn’t hesitate to sue someone for defamation if the case came down to proving intent. Until they found the child porn on his PC there couldn’t have been too much to go on if he was careful about his crimes.

This is a sad reality that happens when times are tough and people can’t just find another job or choose a different career as easily as they used to.

All due to our allowing inbred sociopaths to lead us and subject us to an exploitative economic system in order to maintain power.

You can bet there are more “rings” of like minded criminal perverts out there but I strongly believe they are autonomous and more diverse class based groups as well as loner prisoner in the basement types.
