US Trump Administration’s Last Move In Office Is To Destroy The Palestinian Cause

In Donald Trump’s final months as President of the United States, his top priority seems to be to destroy any prospects for a two-State solution to be even spoken of, in favour of his failed ‘Deal of the Century’ type model. In order to make this possible, Trump has launched an all out attack on the Palestinian people, greater than any prior President in US history.

Under Donald Trump’s America, the United States has become a partisan of Israel more than ever before, essentially adopting every policy position that the far-right Likud Party has advocated for under the leadership of Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump’s Anti-Palestinian Record

Whilst in office, Trump notably recognised Israel’s “undivided capital” as being Jerusalem in December of 2017, later moving the US embassy there from Tel Aviv, in May of 2018. Donald J. Trump also unilaterally withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal, or JCPOA, at the behest of Netanyahu and the Israel Lobby in the United States.

As President, he also saw fit to kick the PLO out of their office in Washington D.C., this is prior to him structuring a so-called peace deal which was supposed to, in the words of Trump, favour both the Israeli and Palestinian Authority side. In June of 2018, US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, announced that the US was withdrawing from the UN Human Rights Council, citing “biased” criticism of Israel as being one of the principal reasons for the US doing so.

Whilst the Embassy move was ongoing, a massacre was committed of Palestinian peaceful protesters in Gaza, as Israeli Snipers targeted and murdered over 60 unarmed demonstrators, journalists and medics. Trump’s administration sat by throughout the entire course of what was named as the ‘Great Return March’, in Gaza, constituting one of the largest – by percentage of the besieged Gazan population – non-violent protest movement in history. The Trump administration defended Israel repeatedly, claiming that Israel was under attack and defended itself, this is despite a UNHRC report, as well as countless Human Rights Group reports, categorically debunking this lie. The silence on the part of the US Trump administration amounted to Israel murdering at least 330 unarmed demonstrators, injuring 35,000. No Israelis were significantly injured or killed.

The United States, not only cheered on Israel as it massacred the people of the Gaza Strip, but went a step further. In August of 2018, Trump withdrew all funding from UNRWA, the UN agency set up to help Palestinian refugees; Gaza’s population is 70+% refugees.

In 2019, Trump signed an order recognizing the illegally occupied Golan Heights as being Israeli territory, contrary to International Law, which stipulates that the land belongs to Syria. Donald Trump’s Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, also announced that, “it is not per se inconsistent with international law,” in regard to the US position on Israel’s illegal occupation of the West Bank, and that settlements were not illegal.

In February of 2019, Trump also decided to cut funds altogether, of any kind, from going to Palestinians in the occupied territories. This meant a full defunding of the Palestinian Authority, based in Ramallah, this coming right before the economic side of Trump’s infamous “Deal of the Century” was to be announced. Whilst the President was cutting funding for Palestinian programs, the 3.8 Billion in Foreign Assistance for Israel was left completely untouched, as Trump approved at least 500 million in assistance for Israeli air defense weaponry. And who could forget the so-called ‘Deal of the Century’ – revealed in February of 2020 – which essentially condemned Palestinians to living in South African Apartheid style bantustans, with no State at all to speak of.

Trump did not stop however, continuing on his quest to be the gift to Netanyahu that keeps on giving. The US President left a window open for Israel to deliver the campaign promise of Netanyahu, going ahead with a de jure annexation of the West Bank. When Benjamin Netanyahu realised that this move would cost him too greatly, understanding that the West Bank has already been annexed in reality, Netanyahu then needed a way out. But luckily Netanyahu’s saviour Trump came to the rescue and put normalisation deals on the table with the UAE, Bahrain and later Sudan, which gave the perfect distraction Israel needed.

With Trump almost reaching election day, the gifts didn’t stop coming. The Trump administration in late October signed a deal with Israel extending its scientific cooperation deals with Israel into the West Bank and Golan Heights, making the US complicit in war crimes. Then a few days later Trump signed off on a symbolic middle finger to the Palestinians and to International Law by allowing US citizens born in Jerusalem to have their place of birth on their passports be altered to say “Israel”.

Israel’s Superman Trump To The Rescue Before Biden Inauguration In January

Since the MSM announcement that Joe Biden is the USA’s President-elect, the Trump-Netanyahu alliance has not fallen apart. In fact since Netanyahu congratulated Biden on his win, the Trump administration has seemingly made it a priority to make sure Israel is in the best position to destroy any prospects of “two-State solution” talks under a Biden White House.

Israel immediately began upping its illegal home demolition campaign, in East Jerusalem, which has this year broken all previous records for the number of Palestinian homes demolished in the occupied territory.

Israel’s Prime Minister then announced plans for the establishment of a new settlement adjacent to the besieged Gaza Strip, whilst Israel’s Minister of War, Benny Gantz, announced 1,700 additional settler units would be built in the West Bank. Israel’s Jerusalem Municipality then announced the approved construction of 100+ settler units inside of the Ramat Shlomo settlement, which was supposed to be a redline for the International community, due to the fact that it helps encircle East Jerusalem with settlements and cuts it off from the West Bank. Then this week it was announced that Israel was going to build up a settlement known as Givat Hamatos, which would effectively isolate East Jerusalem from Bethlehem. On top of this, during Mike Pompeo’s most recent visit to Israel, Netanyahu reportedly requested permission to expand the Atarot settlement in East Jerusalem, which would cut the area off from the West Bank city of Ramallah.

This year alone, almost 1,000 Palestinians have been made homeless from illegal Israeli home demolitions. Whilst Palestinians are being expelled from their homes, Israel is simultaneously expanding illegal settlements in strategic areas, which further cut off Palestinian cities and towns from each other in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

To rub salt into the wounds of the Palestinian people, the Trump administrations Secretary of State just visited Illegal West Bank and Golan Heights Settlements. Pompeo endorsed a winery in an illegal settlement and declared that not only were settlement products to be labelled as products of Israel proper, but that the US was declaring the BDS Movement as anti-Semitic and coming after those who support it as if they were members of the KKK.

New settlement expansionist plans are being released every week now, with no meaningful International pushback and endorsements from the US Trump administration, along with new home demolition orders. Israel and the US are together working to ethnically cleanse the Palestinian native population of Jerusalem and to destroy any prospects for a two-State solution.

For those who thought Trump was against the establishment, that he was was anti-war, or at least a strongman politician, he certainly has shown himself to be the exact opposite when it comes to Israel. Trump quite literally fired and rebelled against everyone who acknowledged a Biden win in the United States, but for his best pal Netanyahu, nothing could break their anti-Palestinian love affair.

  1. “In Donald Trump’s final months as President of the United States,…”

Wow you people have either A) no idea what is really going on or B) are yet another propaganda machine.
    Unbelievalbe.

    1. As I said to other one bleating false certainty: “Get a grip and get over the two party illusion. Are you actualy suggesting that I not allow Robert to express his stance? I thought you were against censorship? And if you think, on a site of numerous writers with different and varying opinions, that I would only make sure one unified stance is projected, then you want me to be MSM, but for your perspectives. You need to reflect on why this bothers you. Also, he is writing this in an “if and when” type of way. Your emotional reaction says far more than Robert’s willingness as a journalists to consider all possible outcomes.” Unbelievable indeed.

    2. Okay. Suppose we edit that first sentence to read: “In Donald Trump’s POSSIBLY final months as…”, could you perhaps then address the author’s many substantive points supporting his thesis, which he summarized in his last paragraph by stating: “For those who thought Trump was against the establishment, that he was was anti-war, or at least a strongman politician, he certainly has shown himself to be the exact opposite when it comes to Israel. Trump quite literally fired and rebelled against everyone who acknowledged a Biden win in the United States, but for his best pal Netanyahu, nothing could break their anti-Palestinian love affair.”?

  2. Robert I. has not clue whatsoever. Trump is not leaving office, he won by a landslide and they have all the evidence. Why has RC allowed this tripe to pollute his site?
