re: 40:00 Pfizer corruption
about not ‘begrudging’ the shareholders their profits.
I think it’s important to remind people that the CEO of a publicly traded corporation is REQUIRED BY LAW to put the profits of the shareholders above all else. This is presented in the movie, “The Corporation” and is the lynchpin to taking this whole thing down. If a CEO can get sued or imprisoned for not putting shareholder profits first, where is the space in the Corporate Culture for humanitarian values? For putting stakeholders before shareholders? How can a CEO defend, in this current legal environment, a longterm strategy for which he cannot demonstrate immediate and measureable results? ‘Seven generations’ would never be defensible in a corporate settlement between leadership and shareholders.
