Course Correction: A Glimpse of America’s Future

Regardless of one’s political leanings or stance on the current police war, or war on police, which ever one sees as the current reality, none can deny the brazenly marching forces of militarized police that have seemed to rise up without warning or legislation. This nation’s rapidly increasing state of turmoil, always seeming to follow shortly behind the unnecessarily armed “peace officers,” should stand as a warning to all those desperately clinging to the last remaining remnant of what was once this country’s guiding light in the moral darkness that is American politics: the Constitution.

Many today have been convinced that those still holding on to their passionate belief in that forgotten outline of federal power and its ability to guide this nation in a direction of honor, truth and morality–one congruent with this country’s founding ideals–are lost souls clinging to a forgotten time. Yet, that document, so appropriately written on hemp paper, as if to lend credence to those still fighting today for those same supposed inalienable rights, contains more than just what its opposition would claim are outdated ideals that no longer resonate with the world we live in.

The Constitution, or what now remains of it, is the only line of defense for the average citizen against a tyrannical government, a concept Americans are all too quickly becoming re-familiarized with. That was the primary objective of its creation: to lay out guiding morals in the form of legislation that safeguard the individual against the collective power of politically ambitious men, which history has shown is a very popular route to wealth, power, and overall control of the unsuspecting public. Its listed rights and amendments are ideals that are untouched by time; ones that guide the conscience and strike to the heart of our choices and provide a moral compass, which has now been cast aside in modern times, replaced by a more profitable dragoman.

The United States is in a very uncertain time, as unilateral action is taken in response to events before the people can even fully understand what has happened; as rights are taken away in direct violation of the foundation of this country, and the people are blandly told it is for their protection; as the nation’s elite now openly brandish the fact that this presidential election, marred by investigations, illegal actions, and outright villainy, is completely staged; and Americans are slowly coming to grips with their illusion of choice, and the reality that we no longer live in a democratic society. As all of these revelations become palpable in the current chaos, the manipulation of the people and their perception of the Constitution should never seem more obviously contrived and concocted, then in this rising police state.

As the government continues to direct your attention to the Islamic boogeyman in the east, US allies are committing more atrocities than ever before, and it’s disregarded. The supposed “moderate rebels” being funded by the US, recently beheaded a young boy, yet all attention was on anything ISIS. Saudi Arabia continues to be the world’s leader in human rights violations, yet all attention is directed elsewhere. Most shocking was that of the Turkish coup in July which appeared to be an inside job designed to allow Turkey’s ruthless president the leeway to purge his country of all dissidents. Turkey, being a US ally, was kept from the mainstream media spotlight, at least in regards to criticism of this butchery of innocents.

Turkish authorities ordered the closure of more than 130 media outlets in an attempt to control the flow of information leaving the country, as well as the flow of information to those now living under the freshly established Turkish police state, or dictatorship, that the US helped to create, or at the very least, provided cover for. During the shift in power, over 6,000 people were arrested, almost 300 people were unjustly killed, almost 3,000 military personnel were arrested, as well as over 2,700 judges who were facing arrest, all because they held differing political views.

The Turkish government shut down three news agencies, 23 radio stations, 16 TV channels, 45 newspapers, 5 magazines and 29 publishers and distributors, during their purge of what they deem to be dissident media. Turkey, once thought to be democratic in nature, has revealed how that illusion can quickly turn into something altogether horrifying, as its true nature is disclosed to the people whose sole desire is now simply to survive.

The US may not be currently experiencing the type of disorder and all-out political insurrection that was being witnessed in the allied country of Turkey, yet it’s not as far off as one might think. If corrective action is not quickly taken, what happened in Turkey could be a glimpse of what is yet to come in the now unforeseeable future of the United States which is resting on the uncertain future of President-Elect Donald Trump. As scary as that may seem, consider the already astute warmonger Hillary Clinton at the helm of this tumultuously chaotic country. Both candidates had been outspoken in regards to their desire to increase the already overwhelming military capacity of this country, and Trump seems to be following through with that sentiment.

It would seem that all rests on the slim hope that Mr. Trump will prove out in the end for his supporters and reconcile with the many who stand in doubt. As reconciliation should be the goal of any true politician. Yet sadly, history repeatedly tells a different story, one of an uncertain militarized future slowly adrift in the direction of our Turkish allies.
